It’s June!

_DSC0038 06.03.15  We were off to visit family in California for a mere five days, and when we got home at night, the rains were still falling and the woods had become a jungle.  The pink wild roses are in full bloom, the white Mock Orange blossoms decorate the trees, and even the wild strawberries have little flowers.  How does it happen so fast!  Or, As Dr. Seuss wrote:

How did it get so late so soon?
It’s night before it’s afternoon.
December is here before it’s June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?

There was enough time, however, for the deer to start eating my geraniums down by the water–I need to cover them with netting and see if i can at least keep them going until the Fourth of July.   When the rains take a pause, the over-grown grass can be mowed, bushes trimmed again, and, soon, even the hammock can be hung in the trees.  In the meantime, we were out after dark again last night, visiting friends across the lake, and drove home to see the full Strawberry Moon slide out from the clouds and illuminate the thin layer of fog draped over the lush green fields, and make sparkles in the river as we drove over the bridge to our east shore.  Another full moon is here–‘how the time has flewn”–already it’s June.
