09.27.15 We leave tomorrow for California so October will come while I’m gone from home. I usually find it disconcerting to be away when the calendar turns over to a new month, but we’ll be with two out of our three daughters, two sons-in-law, and half the grandchildren, so how wonderful is that!
With the exception of our short weather-changing event early in September, this has been such a warm and sunny month. True Indian Summer. Oh we so need the rain–there has been some smoke now and then in the sky–but we’ve had boat rides, kayaking and I’ve loved the late afternoons, reading by the water before dinner. There have been so many lovely evenings on the porch with candles glowing in the red lanterns.
And, tonight, there is the Superblood Moon! We should get a good view from the dock, just before we go to bed. I came upon a quote from one of the NASA scientists: “You’re basically seeing all of the sunrises and sunsets across the world, all at once, being reflected.” I can’t imagine a better closing to this beautiful month of September.
